January 2010

Some say the funniest play ever written, with so many comings, goings, visual gags and misunderstandings, we wondered how on earth we could read it aloud and get any of the timing, so important when playing farce, right.

Unfortunately, we never found out.  We were unable to meet in January because of all the snow. Ruthernbridge was an ice rink.

The play has proved very popular ever since it premiered in 1982.  Michael Frayn’s other works include Copenhagen and Democracy.
