Started in 1978, the festival lasts for fifteen days offering a wide range of music, arts and literature events in locations throughout St Ives, attracting visitors from far and wide.

What happens?

With music, visual arts, poetry, literature, theatre and cinema on offer around St Ives, in Cornwall.

This year’s Festival will take place over 15 days from Saturday, September 8th , to Saturday, September 22nd.

Folk star Seth Lakeman, who began the year touring the USA and Australia with former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, will headline the opening night of the 2018 St Ives September Festival at The Guildhall on Saturday, September 8.

The first week of the 15-day Festival at The Guildhall will have a distinct West Country flavour with Cornwall’s Fisherman’s Friends on Monday, September 10, and Exeter-based Sound of the Sirens two nights later.

The acclaimed Hackney Colliery Band are another act booked to appear at St Ives Guildhall during the Festival, alongside Welsh indie-roots band, Rusty Shackle, Daphne’s Flight, The Young ‘Uns and closing the festival on September 22nd, Scottish folk band, Breabach.

But it’s not all music, there’s theatre, poetry, film, walks, talks and art exhibitions and workshops all going on around the town.

Ticket prices vary depending upon event.

Ticketed gigs take place at The Guildhall and The Western Hotel which hosts a full programme. There will be music of all types in the Guildhall and the Pubs.
