Defib and CPR training

The defibrillator/first-aid training session in the village hall on Friday evening was well-attended. It’s good to know that so many of us can now help in an emergency.

Norman Trebilcock arranged for Marie Chidley of the Cornwall Ambulance Service to run the session, which was organised by Wendy Symons in aid of FLEET (Front Line Emergency Equipment Trust), which provides equipment to the emergency teams in Cornwall, 999 ambulances, coast guards and helicopters. Wendy and her sister Brenda also provided teas and coffees during the evening.

‘Donations are still coming in so I will finalise on Tuesday afternoon and ask Stephen Horrocks to do a bank transfer/Bacs payment direct to Fleet charity and their London Marathon run,’ says Wendy. ‘Anyone wishing to donate can do so by cash to me at the hall on Tuesday morning during Toddler Group, or direct to Fleet charity. Details on their website: fleet.org.uk.

‘Thanks again to all those who attended and, of course, to the brilliant Marie, who made the evening so interesting and informative.’
