The Craft Fayre on December 3 was another successful event for the Village Hall. We raised a total of £452 for the refurbishment of the hall. A big thank you to all those who supported the event and the stall holders who came and displayed a great selection of wonderful crafts.
It was good to see locals and visitors chatting over soup and a roll. There was also mulled wine, mince pies and teas and coffees on offer.
The raffle did a swift trade, my thanks to Barbara Varcoe and Margaret Warren for running that for us.
The Bingo on December 10 went ahead despite an unfortunate conflict with the England, France football match, very icy road conditions and the White Hay hill closure due to a stuck camper van.
A big thank you to all those who braved the conditions and attended the event. Those who attended were rewarded by an enjoyable evening. The teas and coffees were particularly welcomed to warm everyone up.
Our caller, Lorna Philip, did a sterling job of moving proceedings along and keeping us all in order.
There were a wide variety of prizes on offer, so a big thank you for all those who donated.
The event raised a total of £158.70 for the Hall refurbishment, which was a very impressive performance under the circumstances. A big thank you to all who attended and generously supported the evening.
We haven’t planned any events for 2023 yet but will be doing so early in the New Year, so keep an eye out in the Parish Magazine, website and social media.
Best wishes for a Happy and Prosperous 2023!
