At our first W.I. Meeting of 2022, we were lucky to have a talk given to us by Joanna Shapter & her husband Colin. They told us all about their epic cycle ride from Land’s End to Joh O’Groats. They first started their journey in May 2019, but they soon had to stop as their friend Jayne, who was cycling with them had a bad pushbike accident. To make matters even worse, Colin had to have Chemotherapy treatment. They eventually restarted the journey in August 2019. Their trip took 7 weeks from Land’s End to the top end of Scotland at John O’Groats. They pre booked their accommodation anything from Hostels to Pubs to Hotels. The 7 weeks had beautiful weather for them, with only 2 days with rain!. When their journey had finished they managed to raise £6000 for their charity. We were so pleased to have their very interesting & often funny story as our starter for 2022
